10 students abducted on East-West road, Delta
Gunmen have abducted 10 students along the East-West road in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, the police are on trail of the abductors.
The students were said to be returning from their school in Calabar, Cross River State, on Friday night when they were abducted from a Toyota Sienna, a crossover.
Bright, who confirmed the development to Channels TV late Monday night, said the abductees “may have been students who were returning from their school in Calabar.”
The bus driver was said to have escaped unhurt.
The abductors had not demanded any ransom as of 10pm Monday.
The police said its operatives had swung into action.
“The command is aware of this ugly incident, and we are doing all it takes to ensure that they are rescued unhurt,” the state PPRO tweeted on his X handle Monday night.
