10 terrorists killed as troops repel Boko Haram/ISWAP attack on Darak military base
Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Sector 1 in Mora, successfully thwarted a coordinated attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on the Darak military base in Cameroon on December 18, 2024.
According to Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, the early morning assault saw terrorists launch an offensive from multiple directions. In a fierce exchange of gunfire, six attackers were neutralized on-site, while the remainder fled with injuries.

A subsequent ambush by MNJTF troops near Mazogo, along the terrorists’ regrouping route, resulted in the elimination of four more terrorists and the recovery of stolen food supplies.
The operation, which neutralized a total of 10 terrorists, also saw five soldiers sustain injuries. They are currently receiving medical attention.
Lt. Col. Osoba described the operation as a significant victory in the fight against terrorism, reiterating MNJTF’s commitment to ensuring regional peace and security.
