13-year-old girl raped to death in Abuja
A 13-year-old girl has been reportedly raped to death allegedly by local miners at the Tipper Garage area in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
The council’s Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ibrahim Ciroma, who disclosed the incident to our reporter through telephone on Sunday, said the girl, who went to hawk milk on Thursday, was declared missing, and that on Friday her corpse was found at the Tipper Garage area.
He said the corpse private parts were stained with blood and that it was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed that she was raped.

He further said, “The incident has been reported to the police, and to God be the glory, some miners suspected to be behind the crime have been arrested.”
City & Crime further learnt that the incident almost degenerated into a crisis as herders mobilised to the area in an attempt to attack the miners but the quick intervention of security agents doused the situation.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, saying seven suspects had been arrested.
