Sixteen travellers were reportedly burnt to death Friday evening as two vehicles collided on Ode-Omu road in the Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.

Several other people were also said to have sustained injury.

It was gathered that a Mazda bus coming from Osogbo had a collision with a private vehicle coming from Ikorodu, Lagos State, heading to Osogbo.

The vehicles caught fire after the collision.

Spokesperson for Osun Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, said one of the vehicle carried gas, which exploded on impact, and resulted in the fire outbreak.

Her word, “We are yet to ascertain the number of casualties, but all the injured victims have been taken to a hospital in the town for treatment.”
