2 police officers crushed to death at UNIBEN main gate

A tragic accident has claimed the lives of two police officers at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) main gate in Benin City, Edo State.

The officers were reportedly crushed by a moving truck on Tuesday while carrying out their duties at the busy Ugbowo campus entrance.

Disturbing videos circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) captured the aftermath of the incident, showing the lifeless bodies of the officers in uniform lying by the roadside. The shocking scene caused widespread panic among students, staff, and bystanders, many of whom looked on in horror.

As of the time of this report, the identities of the deceased officers have not been officially confirmed. The Edo State Police Command has yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
