“LASEMA Response Teams are currently conducting a search and rescue operation at the self-collapsed building located on Amusu Street, Baale Bus Stop, Orile Iganmu,” Okunbor stated. He further confirmed that the agency received the incident report at 08:54 a.m. and emphasized, “No casualties.”

While the cause of the collapse remains unclear, LASEMA assured the public that more details would be provided in the coming hours.

This incident follows a tragic building collapse in July, where three site workers lost their lives at a construction site in the Maryland area of Lagos.

Building collapses are a frequent occurrence in Lagos, Nigeria’s bustling commercial hub, often raising concerns about construction standards and safety regulations in the city.

Authorities continue to investigate the root causes of these incidents in hopes of preventing future disasters.
