The crisis rocking the People Democratic Party, PDP may soon be over as Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has received ex-Vice President and former Presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday.

Atiku was said to have been resisting such moves. The development even led to a rift between Wike and the national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus.

However, with Tuesday’s meeting in Port-Harcourt, all those differences seem to have been set aside.
According to a source privy to the meeting, Wike said, “If Atiku can manage and unite his Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba wives, he will surely unite Nigeria.”

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s victory in the last governorship election in Ondo State has authenticated by the Supreme Court.
The suit of Mr Eyitayo Jegede, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was on Wednesday thrown out by the Supreme Court.
The court upheld Akredolu’s victory in the October 10, 2020 election.

In the majority judgment delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim, four of the seven-member panel, dismissed the appeal by Jegede and his party, the PDP on the grounds that it was incompetent.
Justice Agim upheld an earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal that the petition filed by Jegede and his party at the election tribunal was incompetent because they failed to include Yobe Governor and Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, as a party.
In the minority judgment read by Justice Mary Peter-Odili, the court upheld the appeal and dismissed the cross appeal by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Akeredolu and the APC.
