Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe, has again criticised the All Progressives Congress, for accepting Femi Fani-Kayode into the party.

He vent his displeasure through a Facebook post on Wednesday, stating, “APC deliberately inflicted maximum shame and pains on diehard APC heroes and foot soldiers across Nigeria by admitting the political prostitute and apostate, Femi Fani-Kayode into the fold.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s special adviser has not hidden nor been silent about his disaffection concerning the latest defection by Fani-Kayode who was personally welcomed into the APC by President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, last week.

On the day Fani-Kayode defected, Igbokwe wrote on Facebook: “Despite all my push for APC Abuja has not given me a phone call talkless of inviting me for a coffee with C in C, but here is a political charlatan and prostitute being given a red carpet in the seat of power, Abuja.”

He added: “Please I am ok where I am today but I know countless APC die hards who are 100% better than FFK. Nobody has remembered them. Not even a recharge card, not even a bottle of coke, not even thank you.”

Fani-Kayode on his part has said that he is proud of himself. He added that he does not care what anyone thinks about his latest defection.

The crisis in the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party took a new twist on Monday with the suspension of 10 members for alleged anti-party activities.

The party’s leadership at Ward 2, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo, announced the suspension of the 10 members said to be loyalists of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his deputy, Phillip Shuaibu.

Most of the allegedly suspended members are the new PDP that defected from the All Progressives Congress with Governor Obaseki and his deputy.

The letter of their suspension was signed by the Ward Chairman, Suileman Momodu, Secretary, Elamah Abdulganinu and 17 others.

They accused the suspended PDP members of breaching the party’s constitution and manifesto, “disobedience and neglect to carryout lawful directive of the party organ and officers of the party.”

Other listed offences are “engaging in anti-party activities; engagement in a conduct likely to cause disaffection among members of the party and is likely to disrupt the peaceful, lawful and efficient conduct of the business of the party.”

Senator Samuel Anyanwu

The Senator who represented Imo East at the 8th Senate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu on Sunday charged Nigerians to take their destinies in their hands, having seen that the All Progressives Congress, APC does not have any regard for their security and welfare.

The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, said plans were on top gear to tackle insecurity in Nigeria when the PDP takes over in 2023.

Anyanwu maintained that since the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is doing nothing to reassure Nigerians of adequate security, such callous mistake has been identified by the PDP for urgent correction with a view to restoring public sanity and confidence.

The South East Consensus candidate for the position of National Secretary of PDP, stated this in Owerri, Imo State capital while reacting to the killing of two traditional rulers in Njaba local government area of Imo State.

He described the ongoing killings of innocent people in the South East, including that of the traditional rulers as not only senseless, barbaric, but sacrilegious and needless.

His word, “no right thinking human being of Igbo extraction no matter the level of insanity, disagreement or hatred can raise a gun or any object against a traditional ruler who are highly revered as custodians of culture, norms and tradition”

“When things that are unusual begin to happen in our climes, it therefore means that things have fallen apart and the center cannot hold. ”

He said,” The summary of the whole thing is that APC has failed Nigerians and that Nigerians need to flush it out is not negotiable. We must demonstrate and express our grievances against them with our vote in 2023.”

On September 4, elections were cancelled in some LGAs of the state owing to security concerns.

Last Wednesday, Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, said he will appoint sole administrators for the LGAs if the election does not take place.

“I would like to observe that if elections do not take place as scheduled on this date, we will have no option than to appoint administrators to manage these local governments for the next three years,” he had said.

“So it is in the interest of everybody to allow elections to take place, otherwise I will appoint people to manage those local governments.”
