A former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, has said that former Governor of Lagos State and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the next president of Nigeria.
Recall that few days ago, Tinubu won the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
He got 1,271 votes to defeat 13 other presidential hopefuls.
Meanwhile before the APC presidential primary election, Tinubu had earlier sparked controversy when he said in Yoruba language at a campaign in Abeokuta in Ogun State in Yoruba: “Emi lo kan,” meaning it is my turn to be president.
He said this was because he had helped President Muhammadu Buhari to win the presidential election in 2015.
Speaking at a meeting with Tinubu, Kingibe told the APC presidential flagbearer that he will be Nigeria’s next president because of his sacrifices.
He said in Yoruba dialect: “Eyin lo kan (you’re the next).
“You will move from Jagaban of Borgu to Jagaban of Nigeria; from Asiwaju of Lagos to Asiwaju of Nigeria.
“For all your sacrifices, for all your effort, God will reward you this time.”
Kingibe was the running mate of late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola in the 1993 presidential election, but later worked under the military government of Sani Abacha after the June 12 presidential election was annulled.
