President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has said he is in the 2023 presidential race to do what is right for Nigerians.
He stressed it was important for him to take the chance this time round because the opportunity might not come again.
The former Lagos governor said this in a tweet on Monday, adding that he entered the race to answer “a higher calling”, which is the love for Nigeria.
The tweet read, “We are not here to do what is comfortable. We are here to do what is right for our people and our country.
“We are here to answer to a greater, higher calling. That calling is the love of Nigeria. We dare not miss this chance because we cannot be sure of another.”
The APC candidate, whose choice of running mate sparked criticisms in different quarters, has been meeting with political bigwigs to gain their support ahead of the 2023 elections.
He last Tuesday had a meeting with Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State, in Europe seeking his backing in the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu said if elected, he would embark on modern infrastructural development across the country, institute financial reforms and eliminate crime.
