3 northern PDP senators defect to APC after meeting with Tinubu
In what appears to be another wave of political realignment, three senators representing Kebbi State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have agreed to switch allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This development came after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Friday.

The meeting was also reportedly attended by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State; Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.
The senators said to be defecting are Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South).
Friday’s discussion, which was facilitated by Ganduje, is seen as part of the ongoing trend of defections across party lines, particularly in favor of the APC.
