31 ships expected at Lagos ports as NPA releases shipping schedule
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the arrival of 31 vessels at Lagos ports between November 3 and 7, underscoring the continued momentum in maritime trade and petroleum logistics.
According to the NPA’s daily publication, Shipping Position, 17 ships are scheduled to berth at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports, while 14 are expected at Lekki Port within the same period.
Of the 17 vessels headed to Apapa and Tin-Can Island, 13 are laden with petroleum products including crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, gas oil, gasoline, and petrol. The remaining four ships are carrying containers loaded with assorted goods.
Meanwhile, six ships have already arrived at the ports and are awaiting berthing. These vessels are carrying general cargo, petrol, containers, and bulk urea.

The NPA also confirmed that 16 ships are currently discharging various commodities at the ports, including general cargo, bulk wheat, fresh fish, bulk gas, containers, and petrol.
In a related development, Lekki Port is set to receive 14 ships within the same timeframe. These vessels are transporting crude oil, aviation fuel, containers, diesel, petrol, and gas oil.
Nine ships are already at Lekki Port, waiting to berth with cargoes that include crude oil, gasoline, bulk urea, petrol, and gas oil.
The steady flow of petroleum and general cargo into Lagos ports highlights the strategic importance of Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure in supporting energy distribution and trade. The NPA continues to monitor and coordinate port activities to ensure efficient cargo handling and timely vessel turnaround.
