A 40-year-old man, Taofeek Sulaiman, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 13-years-old stepdaughter (name withheld).
According to information available to The Eagle Online, the suspect was arrested by policemen on October 24, 2022.
This followed a complaint lodged at Owode Yewa Divisional Police Headquarters by the mother of the victim.
She reported that she got married to Sulaiman after the demise of her husband, who happened to be the father of the victim.

She stated further that her daughter informed her that the suspect, who is now her husband, has been having sex with her since October 14, 2022.
She added that the suspect has been threatening to kill her if she reports to anyone.
Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Owode Yewa Division, CSP Muhammed S. Baba, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the randy stepfather was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, Sulaiman confessed to the commission of the crime, but blamed it all on devil’s handiwork.
According to the spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the victim was taken to Idiroko General Hospital by the police for medical attention.
Meanwhile, the Command’s Commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
