700,000 Ukrainian students displaced, 2,000 schools destroyed in Russian/Ukrainian war — World Bank

… says $9bn needed to rebuild schools

Almost 700,000 students and over 25,000 educators have been displaced since the outbreak of the Russian/Ukrainian war, the World Bank has said. Also, over 2,000 education institutions have been damaged by bombing and shelling, and more than 200 of these have been completely destroyed.

World Bank Global Director for Education, Jaime Saavedra, stated this in Kiev during a World Summit on recovering education losses. He added that over $9 billion would be needed to rebuild educational institutions in that country.
