“Don’t Paint What Doesn’t Exist”: Kamo State Addresses Funke Akindele Speculation
Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Akinyoola Ayoola, better known as Kamo State, has finally addressed the widespread speculation surrounding his relationship with award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele . Speaking during an interview with BBC Yoruba on Wednesday, he dismissed rumours of a fallout, explaining that the reason they are no longer frequently seen together is simply because both are busier with their respective careers .
Recounting how their relationship began, Kamo State revealed that his admiration for Funke Akindele long predates their first meeting. He described her as a role model and someone he loved and respected deeply long before they ever crossed paths professionally . He disclosed that their first physical meeting happened on the set of Everybody Loves Jenifa, where an incident with a handcuff key led to her showing genuine concern. According to him, it was this kindness and the way she treated him that led him to start calling her “mummy” .
According to the skit maker, Funke Akindele was impressed by his passion and work ethic, which paved the way for several collaborations on her productions . These projects include Ayetoro (also spelt Aiyetoro) and Behind the Scene, which helped to significantly strengthen their working relationship . Kamo has previously credited Funke with helping to shape his acting career after discovering him through his comedy skits. He has often described her as a mentor who gave him opportunities in film and television productions, leading to several collaborations . Funke’s 2025 film Behind the Scenes, which featured Kamo State, became one of Nigeria’s highest-grossing films and further strengthened their working relationship .

Addressing the core question of why fans have noticed fewer public appearances together, Kamo State clarified that it has nothing to do with any disagreement. He attributed it to their increasingly busy schedules, noting that Akindele has been deeply immersed in preparations for her upcoming December project, while his own career has also grown considerably compared to where he was a year ago . Kamo also appealed to fans and social media users to stop spreading false narratives about their relationship, urging the public not to create conflict where none exists . He insisted that their bond remains strong behind the scenes despite their demanding work schedules .
This clarification comes amid recurring social media speculation that he and Akindele had fallen out after they were no longer frequently seen together at movie sets and public events . However, Kamo’s latest comments reinforce that there is no misunderstanding between them. The skit maker has previously credited Funke Akindele with playing a significant role in his career and personal life . In a heartfelt tribute posted in May 2025, he revealed that she offered to fly his wife abroad for childbirth when she learned of the pregnancy, describing her as “an angel in human form” . He recounted numerous acts of kindness and generosity, from securing one of the best doctors in Lagos and covering all hospital bills, to sponsoring the naming ceremony for his child. Kamo has often described her as a mentor who gave him opportunities in film and television productions, reinforcing that their personal and professional relationship remains intact .

Nasarawa Murder: Two Arrested as Police Recover Burnt Body from Dry Well
Nasarawa Murder: Two Arrested as Police Recover Burnt Body from Dry Well
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the alleged murder of a 50-year-old man whose decomposed remains were recovered from a dry well at his residence in Aku Village, Base 5, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
The victim, identified as Jude Thaddeus, popularly known as Musa, was allegedly killed inside his residence before his body was dumped in a dry well and set ablaze in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.
The police said the suspects allegedly covered the well with blocks to prevent the discovery of the remains.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Friday, November 6, 2026.
According to the police, the incident came to light on November 3 after a 46-year-old woman, Jennifer Alain, from Mpape, Abuja, reported her brother missing at the Aso Pada Police Division.
Alain reportedly raised the alarm after repeated attempts to contact her brother proved unsuccessful, while an unidentified person kept answering calls made to his telephone number.
Following the complaint, detectives launched an investigation that led to the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect, Yusuf Musa, who had reportedly been employed by the deceased about three months earlier to look after his domestic animals.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the victim had been missing since October 22, while the suspect allegedly took possession of his mobile phone and continued deceiving people who called by claiming that his supposed father had travelled to England.
The police further alleged that the suspect had been disposing of the deceased’s personal belongings, domestic animals and other properties under suspicious circumstances.
During interrogation, Yusuf allegedly confessed to selling some of the victim’s heavy metals and industrial engines for ₦3.4 million.
The suspect also allegedly confessed to participating in the murder and disclosed that the victim’s remains had been dumped in a dry well within his residence.
Acting on the information, detectives, working alongside environmental services personnel, visited the property and recovered the decomposed remains from the well.
The police said preliminary findings suggested that the victim was killed inside his residence before his body was taken to the well and set ablaze.
The remains were subsequently evacuated to the Medical Centre, Mararaba, where a medical doctor examined and certified the victim dead.
The police identified the two suspects currently in custody as Yusuf Musa, 23, and Victor Zamani, 32.
The Command also disclosed that investigations had established the involvement of a third suspect, who was still at large, with efforts intensified to apprehend the fleeing individual.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohamed, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lafia, for comprehensive investigation and prosecution.
The Command assured residents that investigations were ongoing and that everyone found culpable would be brought to justice.
It also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.

Kunle Afod Breaks Silence on Marriage Crisis, Cheating Allegations, Sex Toys

Nollywood actor speaks on infidelity, jealousy, trust issues, says acting career leaves little time for family
Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afod, has broken his silence on his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, opening up about infidelity, jealousy, trust issues and what he described as double standards in relationships.
The Yoruba movie star made the revelations during an interview with YouTube personality Kasnasty Sugar, published on Thursday, November 5, 2026, months after reports of a crisis in his marriage became public.
Afod, who had largely kept quiet about the reported marital difficulties, identified the demanding nature of his acting career as one of the challenges affecting his family life.
Speaking about his separation, the actor explained that his professional commitments sometimes leave him and his wife with little time to attend to their home and family.
He began his remarks by apologising to women, apparently anticipating that some of his comments might generate controversy.
According to him, the entertainment industry can place enormous demands on actors, sometimes making it difficult for them to strike a balance between their careers and family responsibilities.
The actor subsequently turned his attention to infidelity, arguing that cheating should not be treated as an offence exclusive to men.
He questioned the tendency to condemn men for cheating while overlooking similar conduct by women, suggesting that both partners should be subjected to the same standards of faithfulness in marriage.
Afod also made controversial remarks about relationships between women, suggesting that some husbands could become suspicious when their wives maintain unusually close relationships with female friends.

His comments on the subject have generated interest because of the sensitive nature of trust, boundaries and fidelity in marital relationships.
The actor also stirred controversy with his observations about the use of sex toys among married couples.
He questioned what he considered a double standard whereby some women allegedly have no reservations about asking their husbands to purchase sex toys for them but might object if they discover that their husbands equally use such products.
Afod argued that the use of such devices could also raise questions about fidelity, particularly when one partner considers certain bedroom practices acceptable for themselves but unacceptable for their spouse.
He specifically questioned why a woman might request multiple sex toys while regarding her husband’s use of similar products as unacceptable.
His remarks have added another dimension to the public conversation surrounding the actor’s marital separation.
Afod and Desola’s marital crisis reportedly became public in February 2026, following claims that Desola had moved her belongings out of their matrimonial home.
The couple, who reportedly began their relationship in 2002, got married in 2005 and have children together.
Although speculation about their relationship had circulated for months, neither party had offered a detailed public account of the circumstances surrounding their separation before the actor’s recent interview.
Afod, however, did not directly accuse his estranged wife of infidelity or establish that the issues he discussed were specific incidents that occurred in their marriage.
His comments were largely framed around his observations about relationships, marital expectations and the challenges couples face.
The actor’s remarks have since drawn attention to the pressures facing celebrity marriages, particularly where demanding professional commitments compete with family responsibilities.
For Afod, whose career has spanned several years in the Yoruba movie industry, his latest comments have provided a rare glimpse into his views on marriage, fidelity and the challenges of maintaining a family while pursuing a demanding entertainment career.

Mohbad: Court-Supervised DNA Samples Collected From Singer’s Remains, Son Liam
Mohbad: Court-Supervised DNA Samples Collected From Singer’s Remains, Son Liam
Three-year paternity controversy reaches crucial stage as forensic examination begins; results yet to be announced
The prolonged paternity controversy surrounding late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reached a significant stage following the collection of DNA samples from his remains and his son, Liam, under court supervision.
The exercise, which took place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, is expected to provide scientific evidence to help establish whether the young boy is the biological son of the late singer.
The development marks a major step in a dispute that has continued to generate intense public debate since Mohbad’s death in September 2023.
According to reports, the sample collection followed an application by Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, seeking a court-supervised DNA examination to determine Liam’s paternity.
The court approved the application and appointed a welfare officer to supervise the exercise, with October 31 fixed for the collection of the required samples.
Samples were reportedly collected from Mohbad’s remains at Mainland General Hospital, popularly known as the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Yaba, Lagos.
They were subsequently transported under tight security to the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, where samples were also collected from Liam for further forensic examination.
The exercise was conducted amid heightened security arrangements to prevent possible disturbances, following concerns about potential public protests and calls by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, for support from his online followers.

Mohbad’s mother, Abosede; younger brother, Adura; and widow, Omowunmi, were reportedly present during the proceedings.
The exercise was said to have been particularly emotional during the identification of the late singer’s remains, which formed part of the procedure.
Aloba Family Raises Concerns Over DNA Testing Process
The sample collection came despite earlier objections from members of the Aloba family, who had questioned the transparency and technical arrangements for the proposed DNA examination.
Before the October 31 exercise, the family called for its postponement, demanding disclosure of the identity of a United States laboratory reportedly expected to conduct the actual DNA analysis.
In a statement signed by the family head, Samuel Aloba, the family sought clarification on whether the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre would conduct the examination itself or merely collect and transfer the samples to an overseas laboratory.
The family also requested information about the proposed laboratory’s accreditation, technical competence and procedures for preserving, transporting and examining the biological samples.
It further demanded adequate documentation of the chain of custody to establish that the samples collected were the same specimens eventually received and analysed by the laboratory.
The family maintained that its concerns were not intended to frustrate the DNA examination but to ensure that the process was transparent, scientifically credible and capable of withstanding independent scrutiny.
It also clarified that its concerns about possible interference or mishandling did not amount to proof that the exercise had been compromised.
DNA Results: No Release Date Yet
Speaking after the sample collection, the lawyer representing Omowunmi, Barrister Kabiru, disclosed that no specific date had been fixed for the release of the DNA results.
He explained that the parties involved would be formally notified through the court once the forensic examination had been completed and the results became available.
The lawyer also commended the court and the Nigeria Police Force for their professionalism and coordination in ensuring that the exercise was successfully conducted under adequate security.
Mohbad’s Death and the Lingering Family Dispute
Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, was one of Nigeria’s fast-rising music stars before his death sparked nationwide outrage and calls for a thorough investigation.
His death generated widespread controversy, leading to the exhumation of his remains for an autopsy and subsequent investigations into the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Apart from the unresolved questions surrounding his death, the dispute over Liam’s paternity has remained one of the major issues dividing members of his family.
His father, Joseph Aloba, has repeatedly questioned the boy’s paternity and demanded a DNA examination, while the controversy has continued to attract public attention and heated exchanges across social media.
The paternity proceedings have also experienced delays, with a related court matter reportedly adjourned to November 16, 2026.
With samples now collected from both Mohbad’s remains and Liam, attention has shifted to the forensic examination and the eventual outcome.
The result is expected to provide scientific evidence to assist the court in determining the paternity question, although the outcome remains unknown.
For now, the public awaits the findings of the examination, which could bring clarity to one of the most contentious family disputes to emerge following the death of the late Afrobeats star.
