Toyota reveals specially-built Land Cruiser, Black Truck, other off-road vehicles at Sema
Toyota has taken its fans, competitors and visitors at the ongoing 2022 Sema auto show by surprise with a display of eight exciting and versatile off-road vehicle concepts expected to translate to real-world accessories soon.
Leading the pack are the specially-built Land Cruiser 79 Megatourer and the Black Truck.
Others are the Sequoia, Tundra, and iconic FJ 49 acting as the platform for the overlanding and camping design proposals.
The leading automaker is taking full advantage of its larger show space this year’s event taking place in Las Vegas, USA, between November 1 and November 5, as the concept vehicles appear to be pretty large and may even overshadow what Ram currently has planned.
The Japanese manufacturer says it has put in the extra effort this year to show its dedication to its customers who are on the constant search for excitement off the beaten path.
Each model appears to carry the brand’s ethos of the journey as important as the destination, according to CarBuzz.
The Black Truck

The Black Truck was put together by Patriot Campers of Australia based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series GLX. It’s by far the most labour-intensive concept at Toyota’s SEMA stage. This concept has had its standard chassis stretched to 11.8-inches and implements an EFS Elite tube coil spring suspension which raises the ride by three inches.
Supertourer was said to have been tasked with giving the truck a complete redesign with a matte hood wrap and exterior paint.
Its off-road accessories are a snorkel, steel bull bar, winches at the front and rear, larger door mirrors, a water tank, two air compressors, and a pop-up tent with some lifestyle peripherals. Additional lighting, Recaro seats, and a navigation system attached to a seven-inch touchscreen bring the historic SUV into the modern world.
Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Megatourer

Toyota is also bringing a 6×6 to its SEMA stand, in the shape of the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Patriot Campers Megatourer.
For the extra pair of wheels, Jmacx Offroad Solutions conducted some professional cutting and welding. These are driven by the 4.2-litre straight-six diesel engine which has been fitted with an upgraded turbocharger, intake, air snorkel, and exhaust system with a pair of four-inch stacks.
The suspension also features an adjustable air suspension with adjustable dampers that can lift the ride by eight inches.
Its exterior features necessities such as toolboxes, sheet metal guards, and storage components.
The interior is made to be pretty plush as it features Nappa leather upholstery with suede touches, an eight-inch Alpine touchscreen infotainment system, and a bespoke instrument cluster.
For all the overlanding needs, it also holds four battery packs which can be charged via solar panels attached to the roof.
Toyota FJ49

Another Toyota offroad concept coming to Sema 2022 from Australia is FJ49. It was designed by two sons of Patriot Campers’ founder.
The FJ49, based on a 1977 FJ45, keeps things functional and aesthetically fitting with a modified turbo diesel 4.5-litre V8. This powertrain is joined by an upgraded cooling and exhaust system.
The four-wheel drive remains standard but it does benefit from Harrop Eaton E lockers.
For a more capable suspension, the brothers fitted a custom coil system based on the original car’s parts. Accompanying this is a heavy-duty differential and PCOR wheels fitted to a set of BF Goodrich tires.
Giving this truck its iconic look is a set of custom wheel flares, bar work, tow bars, and an exo-roll cage; a winch, two air compressors and upgraded exterior lighting round off the exterior modifications.
On the electrical front, the FJ49 has been kitted out with a new vehicle management system, two upsized batteries, a 350-Watt inverter, new gauges for the instrument cluster, an upgraded brake controller, and a communications system.

Jetour Nigeria consolidates as sole authorised distributor, gets global market award
Jetour Nigeria consolidates as sole authorised distributor, gets global market award
Jetour Nigeria has consolidated its position as the exclusive representative of the Jetour brand in the country following its 2022 appointment by Jetour International.
The company said the move to clarify its exclusive status came after its successful hosting of the “Jetour Experience” in Lagos, where it unveiled its nationwide dealership structure and addressed lingering market ambiguity over distribution rights.
Since securing the mandate in 2022, Jetour Nigeria has led the importation, distribution, and provision of manufacturer-backed after-sales services for the brand’s full vehicle range in the country.
Its growing influence recently earned global recognition at the 2026 Jetour Global Conference, where the firm received the “Market Share Leadership Award 2025,” underscoring its dominance in the African market.
To strengthen nationwide service delivery, the company operates through a network of seven authorised dealers — Elizade Nigeria Limited, New Era Autovehicle Services Limited, Kojo Motors, Germaine Auto Centre, R.T. Briscoe Plc, TAB Autos Limited, and Mandilas Motors.
These partners, according to the company, are the only entities authorised to sell and service Jetour vehicles in Nigeria.

At the four-day exhibition held at the Podium Events Centre, the dealers provided product information and customer engagement services, reinforcing what the company described as a unified and regulated distribution ecosystem.
“The ‘Jetour Experience’ was more than a celebration; it was a statement of clarity,” noted a representative of Jetour Nigeria. “By bringing our seven authorized dealers together under one roof, we have shown the public exactly where the Jetour brand lives.
“Since our 2022 appointment, we have invested heavily in a structure that guarantees customers genuine parts, expert technicians, and valid warranties—benefits, only available through our official channels.”
The company also received a boost from the visit of Anguo Yuan, Vice President of Jetour International, who commended the Nigerian team for its rapid expansion and infrastructure investment.
Industry recognition has followed the brand’s growth, with awards including the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association’s New Entrant of the Year, Fastest Growing Auto Brand, and Car of the Year for the Jetour Dashing.
Jetour Nigeria said its current lineup — including the rugged T2, plug-in hybrid models, and the flagship G700 — reflects its commitment to innovation and market leadership.
It advised customers to engage only its authorised dealer network to guarantee access to genuine parts, certified service, and full manufacturer warranty coverage.
