Final year student kills course mate in Bauchi
Police detectives have arrested Kamaluddeen Musa, a student of Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education Kangere-Bauchi LGA, Bauchi State, for allegedly killing his friend, who was his course mate.
He was said to have stabbed the victim, Usman Umar, aged 25 years, around 9am on November 28, with a sharp knife in his stomach.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police detectives evacuated the victim to the Specialist Hospital Bauchi where the victim was certified dead by a medical doctor, while the suspect was immediately arrested.
Preliminary investigation revealed that both the suspect and the victim were friends and final-year students of Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education Kangere Bauchi LGA, Bauchi State. that on the 28th November 2022 at about 0915hrs, a little altercation broke between them when the deceased bewailed that the suspect went on an outing without notifying the deceased, this led to a physical confrontation which inflicted injury to the thump finger of the suspect, on the process the suspect drew a small knife from his pocket and stabbed the deceased in his stomach and it was corroborated by the two eye-witnesses; Musa Danjuma ‘m’ aged 22yrs and Nawasi Sadi ‘m’ aged 20yrs all student of the same school. As the investigation continues to explore other facts of the case.

In another development, on the 29th of November, 2022 at about 0020hrs, suspected hoodlums attacked Gobirawa village via Gwana district, Alkaleri LGA. The hoodlums numbering about six armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons, riding on three Bajaj motorcycles invaded the village and started shooting sporadically.
During the raid, they further went to a business area and burgled a kiosk shop in a bit to loot valuables. in the process, they met a 45yrs Rabiu Lawan ‘m’ of Gobirawa village who was asleep inside a shop and was shot multiple times by the hoodlums.
On receiving the information, the Command detectives led by Dpo Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with a local vigilante group of the area swiftly swung into action and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. Consequently, following superior firepower from the operatives, the hoodlums were subdued and scampered in disarray into the nearby bush with possible bullet wounds. In the process, the hoodlums abandoned one AK-47 rifle and three operational motorcycles.
Furthermore, the victim was evacuated to the General Hospital Kashere Gombe State, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
To this end, members of the general public are enjoined to report any suspicious and/or bullet wounded person(s) to the nearest Police Station.

Police arrest four ex-convicts for robbery in Niger
Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested four ex-convicts after they conspired and robbed a Minna residence of valuables worth millions of naira.
The suspects, Yahaya Mohammed, Ayuba Simon, Menasse Makama and Nuhu Azuka; confessed to their crimes during interrogation.
The command’s spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun made this known on Friday in a statement in which he said the suspects were arrested following a complaint received from a concerned resident.
“On 15/4/2024 at about 0250hrs, we received a direct complaint from the Brighter area of Minna, that some suspected armed robbers invaded a residence within the area, robbed the victim and carted away one Honda Odyssey vehicle and other valuables.

“On receipt of the complaint, police operatives attached to Crack Squad of the Command swung into action. With the aid of technical intelligence and information received from the community, the notorious suspects were arrested;
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and other previous thuggery and armed robberies, in which they had previously served a jail term,” the statement read.
Abiodun added that “the confessions of the suspects led to the recovery of the Honda Odyssey vehicle with Reg. No. AG 400 PAK, one POS machine, a Samsung TV, two standing fans and other valuables from them.”
He also disclosed that the suspects would be charged in court as soon as investigations were concluded.

EFCC nabs 20 suspected internet fraudsters in Sapele
Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday May 3, 2024 arrested 20 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Sapele, Delta State.
A terse post on the anti-graft commission Facebook page, said the suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in computer- related fraud.
