The star-studded African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, held at Lagos’ Eko Hotel on May 11, 2024, gathered a constellation of top actors, directors, and filmmakers from across the continent, with the dynamic duo among the celebrated attendees.
Before taking the stage to present awards and host Celebrities on red carpet, Toke Makinwa shared a delightful backstage moment with Tiwa Savage, filled with playful banter and infectious laughter.

Tiwa, in high spirits after the success of her movie “Water and Garri” on Prime Video, showcased her exuberant dance moves, setting the tone for a joyful encounter.
Amused by Tiwa’s spirited dance, Toke quipped, “Tiwa, my friend, what’s with the outfit choice today?” Tiwa playfully responded with a witty remark about Toke’s short height, ignited a playful exchange between the two.
Taken aback but in good humor, Toke jokingly exclaimed, “Are you for real?” as they both erupted into laughter.
Toke Makinwa later shared the lively moment on social media with the caption, “When @tiwasavage stops by to wish you good luck.”
Tiiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa’s solid friendship began to show cracks a few years ago, with netizens noticing their conspicuous absence from each other’s company and lack of public support for one another.
Tensions escalated to the point where, at a particular birthday party, they noticeably ignored each other despite being in close proximity.

Davido: Sophia Momodu files 102-paragraph affidavit in child’s custody suit
Sophia Momodu has filed her defence in a lawsuit insisted by a Nigerian musician, Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke over custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke.
We had earlier reported that the case was initiated by Davido who wanted the joint custody of Imade.
The legal action, filed on April 17, 2024, and bearing the suit number LD/1587PMC/2024, names Davido as the applicant and Sophia Momodu as the respondent, marking the beginning of a legal battle over the child’s custody
Davido, through his legal action, is seeking a court order granting him joint custody of his daughter, Imade, and unrestricted access to her.
While acknowledging that his relationship with Sophia Momodu, Imade’s mother, ended several years ago, Davido emphasised that he had consistently fulfilled his financial responsibilities towards their child’s well-being, demonstrating his commitment to Imade’s care and support.

By seeking joint custody and unfettered access, Davido aimed to ensure a continued active role in his daughter’s life.
Davido also alleged that Momodu demanded he pay the nanny she hired a monthly salary of $800, equivalent to $19,600 annually, which he deemed excessive.
Despite his efforts to provide for their daughter’s well-being, Davido claimed that Momodu has consistently treated him with cruelty and caused him significant emotional pain.
In light of these circumstances, Davido is seeking a court order granting him joint custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke, to ensure a more collaborative and harmonious approach to her care and upbringing.
SaharaReporters learnt further that Sophia Momodu, in her response to the singer’s case, filed a 102 paragraphs of counter affidavit via her legal team Dr Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr Bimpe Ajegbomogun.
The next hearing is slated for Friday, 5th of July, 2024.

One of the Oyo state most influential politicians, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo has demanded a refund of the sum of N8 million and additional N50 million for damages from Fuji musician, Alhaji King Wasiu Ayinde for failure to perform at daughter’s wedding, Alhaji Chief (Dr.) Yekini Adeojo
A letter from Ba Law Firm of Chief Bolaji Ayorinde , SAN, OFR, acting on behalf of Chief Adeojo, has demanded from King Wasiu Ayinde to pay the sum of N58m within the period of 14 days, from the date of the receipt of the letter, and in the event of failure to pay the sum, a legal action will be taken against the musician to enforce compliance.
Ba Law Firm stated in the letter to Wasiu Ayinde that Chief Adeojo contracted the musician to perform at the wedding ceremony of Miss Mariam Oyinade Adeojo on 29 June 2024 in Ibadan, Oyo State with agreed sum of N8m paid into the account of Wasiu Ayinde since 9 January 2024, but the musician breach the contract by not showing up for the performance after Chief Adeojo had made elaborate preparation for the wedding ceremony with the invitation of the who-is-who in the society including the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.

“To worsen the situation, out client further states that the payment for your performance at his daughter’s wedding scheduled for 29 June 2024 at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State was made since the 9th day of January, 2024, a period of over five months to the date of the event, yet, you failed to show up for your performance and deliberately breached the contract between you and our client,” the letter reads.
By this breach, Chief Adeojo is demanding from Wasiu Ayinde immediate refund of N8m being the sum paid in advance for the performance, payment of N50m for damages on the breach of contract and payment of interest of 10 percent on N8m since 9 January 2024 and a letter of apology.

Wife of veteran actor Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva has debunked the rumours making the rounds about her husband’s death.
Media reports have said Jacobs who is 81 died today.
It is the third time reports of his death would fill the media only for it to be denied.
A once virile and agile actor has lost weight over the time over undisclosed illnesses.

She wrote, “Good day everyone, trust all is going well. The Jacobs Clan would love to inform you that Papa J (Olu Jacobs MFR), is alive and well; enjoying himself as always in the comfort of his home and loved ones.”
Also debunking the death rumours, Betty Irabor, a Nigerian writer wrote: “Olu Jacob is well and alive..pls ignore all rumors of his passing.”
