The bandits reportedly aimed to free several high-profile suspects held in the Command’s custody. NSCDC Public Relations Officer Jerry Victor disclosed that the attackers were armed with sophisticated weapons and attempted to breach the Command’s perimeter by breaking through sections of the fence and taking strategic positions around the building.
“The operatives of the NSCDC swiftly responded by opening fire on the hoodlums whose mission was to release some high-profile suspected criminals, including informants of kidnappers in the custody of the Command,” Victor stated.
Remarkably, no casualties were reported on either side during the confrontation, thanks to the swift and decisive response of the NSCDC operatives.

Abbas Haruna, a Seaman who was reportedly detained for almost six years following orders from a senior Nigerian Navy officer, has finally been released.
During a popular Abuja-based radio program, Brekete Family, Haruna’s wife, Hussaina Iliya, previously alleged that her husband had been unjustly detained since 2018 by the military.
Iliya accused a senior military officer of being responsible for Haruna’s prolonged detention and torture.
Her claims gained widespread attention, leading to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, calling for an investigation into the matter.

Speaking tearfully, she expressed her dedication to staying by his side: “I will be with him no matter the situation. They have discharged him. He was ejected from the barracks. I love my husband. I love him,” she said, recounting their ordeal.
