Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has presented an award of excellence to the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH) with a cheque of one million naira to the Rector, Prof. Olufunke Akinkurolere, for emerging the most compliant institution during 2019 Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) admission process.
Abiodun disclosed this during the event tagged ‘Celebration of Ogun Lauretes 2021′ organised to honour students, teachers and institutions, who won laurels in different educational levels, held at the Obas’ complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta
He said that his administration would continue to make education a major priority, urging other stakeholders especially those in the private sector to invest in education as part of their community social responsibility.
The Registrar of JAMB Prof. Isiaq Oloyede, in his goodwill message commended OGITECH for the award, pointing out that it was meant to improve the educational sector as well as motivate them to maintain global standards.
While presenting awards to some students, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, commended the governor for his interest in the education sector , noting that the event was the first of its kind.
Odemuyiwa also appreciated the present administration for the kind gesture, giving kudos to her staff for their commitment, working as a team to achieve a laudable goal.
