Activities grounded as NLC shuts down Abuja airport
Air passengers were stranded on Thursday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja following aviation workers’ protest called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC),
Labour leaders had declared a protest at a news conference in Abuja, and they had blocked the airport’s main entrance and exit.
Cars and airport taxis were unable to pick up customers.

Some people had to move to a road far from the airport in order to catch taxis.
There was significant traffic on the route to the airport as drivers waited for the demonstration to end.
Passengers were seen discussing the situation, with some blaming Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State, for the labour actions that followed the attack on Joe Ajero, the president of the NLC.
