Adamawa man kills court clerk for serving him summons

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Linus Dimas, a 43-year-old man for allegedly killing Yauba Usman a court clerk working with Nasarawo Jereng Area Court, Adamawa.

According to a press release by the spokesman of the Adamawa State Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect is a resident of Kugama Wuro Jibir, Mayo Belwa Local Government Area.

He said the unfortunate incident occurred on 18th December 2023, when the deceased went to serve the accused a court summons.

However, things got out of hand when Dimas who was not ready for the summons rejected it and rather stabbed the clerk severally with a knife, thereby inflicting deep cuts on him.

Nguroje said: “The Court Clerk was immediately rushed to Hospital but was confirmed dead.”

He noted that the suspect was arrested the same day and the Commissioner of Police has ordered for a discreet investigation into the matter.
