AFCON 2025: Super Eagles to Earn $10,000 Bonus for Every Goal Against Mozambique
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been promised a $10,000 (about ₦14 million) bonus per goal ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 clash against Mozambique.
According to BSNSports, the incentive was pledged by a Nigerian business mogul and official team partner for Monday’s knockout encounter at the Fez Stadium, Morocco. The development comes on the back of the Super Eagles’ impressive attacking display, having scored eight goals in three matches during the AFCON group stage.
The same partner had earlier rewarded the team with $5,000 per goal during the group phase, a figure that has now been doubled as the tournament enters the knockout rounds.

Confirming the incentive in Rabat, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, said the Federal Government and private partners have put measures in place to motivate the team to go all the way at AFCON 2025.
“We have fully mobilised the Super Eagles to succeed in this tournament,” Dikko said. “On the part of the Federal Government, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the AFCON Intervention Fund on November 14. Beyond that, our partners and sponsors paid $5,000 per goal in the group stage and have now committed $10,000 per goal for the Round of 16. These incentives will continue to improve as the competition progresses.”
Nigeria face Mozambique on Monday with a place in the AFCON quarter-finals at stake, as the Super Eagles aim to maintain their strong scoring form and push for continental glory.
