Afenifere appoints three new leaders
Afenifere, a leading Yoruba cultural and political group, has bolstered its leadership with three new key appointments
This strategic move aims to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and impact.
Comrade Jare Ajayi, the group’s spokesperson, disclosed the new appointments, which feature Agbaakin Ademola Babatunde Folarin as the new chief administrator, Alagba Dare Babarinsa as the new financial custodian, and Barrister Lanre Omisore as the new financial controller.
These new leaders will collaborate with existing executives, including Abagun Kole Omololu, Dr. Akin Onigbinde, and Comrade Jare Ajayi, to drive the organization’s mission forward.
The appointments were made by Chief Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, Afenifere’s national leader, during a high-level meeting at his residence in Akure, Ondo State, on August 20, 2024.
The gathering endorsed the new appointments.

Furthermore, the appointment of former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as chairman of the reconciliation panel, was also confirmed.
According to Ajayi, the national leader has the discretion to appoint officials to manage the organization’s affairs, in line with Afenifere’s established tradition.
Agbaakin Folarin, the new chief administrator, is a seasoned legal expert and philanthropist with over four decades of experience.
He holds a prestigious chieftaincy title and runs a law practice in Lagos.
Alagba Babarinsa, the new financial custodian, is a veteran journalist with extensive experience in prominent media outlets.
Barrister Omisore, the new financial controller, is a skilled lawyer with international experience.
The national leader, Pa Fasoranti, confirmed that the new appointments take effect immediately, as stated by Ajayi.
