Again, 10 killed in renewed farmers-herders conflict in Jigawa
A violent clash between crop farmers and cattle herders in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State has left at least 10 people dead and several others injured.
The attack, which took place in the Gidan Nagari community, occurred just two kilometers from Gululu, where an earlier confrontation resulted in nine deaths. In that incident, farmers accused herders of looting a provision store in Miga Local Government Area.
Haruna Mairiga, the head of the state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), confirmed the latest death toll after visiting the affected area on Friday morning.
