Anambra Assembly suspends PDP lawmaker over social media posts
The Anambra State House of Assembly has slammed a three-month suspension on Hon. Bernard Udemezue, the lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency.
Udemezue, who was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was sanctioned following a controversial post he shared on social media. According to the Assembly, the content of his message was “damaging” and capable of tarnishing the image of the legislature.
In the viral post, the lawmaker alleged that his constituency, Ayamelum, had been sidelined in the distribution of constituency allowances. The claim, however, did not sit well with his colleagues, who viewed it as an act of misconduct.

And at the plenary on Tuesday(today), the House passed the resolution to suspend the lawmaker for three months.
