Eze Paul Ogbu, the traditional ruler of Ihitte Ihube autonomous community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State abducted on Sunday by bandits has been found dead.
He and a youth leader in the community were kidnapped on Sunday after his palace and vehicle were razed.
His corpse was reportedly discovered on Wednesday and it was conveyed to his palace.
Another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe, who was kidnapped along with Ogbu, was said to have disclosed that their abductors had killed Ogbu.
Ndukwe reportedly revealed that the kidnappers killed Eze Ogbu in his presence.
Security operatives who went back to the criminals camp with the indigenes found the corpse of the traditional ruler in a ditch, it was learnt.
Ogbu and Ndukwe were kidnapped on Sunday with their vehicles and palaces razed.
Ndukwe was rescued on Monday after security operatives raided the criminal den in Orsu Local Government Area and Uli in Ihiala LGA of Anambra state.
An Imo traditional ruler, who was abducted last week, was found dead days after the kidnap.
