Anxiety in Kogi over kidnap of local govt chairman
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi state, Zacheous Dare Michael, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
He was reportedly kidnapped on Friday evening along the Kabba-Okene expressway in Kogi State.
Michael is said to be vying for the chairmanship of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in the local government ahead of the Kogi State council polls slated for October 19, 2024.

Sources said Michael attended a meeting in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, before his abduction.
According to DAILY POST, the heavily armed kidnappers opened fire on the vehicle of the Caretaker Committee chairman before capturing him and other members of his entourage.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Ovye Aya, is yet to issued a statement on the incident.
