APC crisis worsens as Vice Chair Salihu Lukman resigns

The crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) may have deepened as its vice-chairman of the North-West Salihu Lukman has resigned.

He tendered his resignation from his position as a member of the national working Committee (NWC) of the party on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

The letter was addressed to Abubakar Kyari, acting national chairman of the APC.

Lukman however said he would a member of the party.

This is coming barely one week after Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore, the national chairman and national secretary were reportedly forced to resign.

Lukman has consistently expressed his opposition to aspiration of former Kano Governor Abdullah Ganduje as next national chairman of the party.

Ganduje is believed to enjoy the backing of President Bola Tinubu.
