The Court of Appeal on Thursday set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja which declared Senator Abubakar Yusuf as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba State for the 2023 poll.
The appeal court affirmed the result of the party’s governorship primary that declared Emmanuel Bwacha as the winner.
The leadership of the party in its reaction said, “Today’s judgement has further confirmed that we have a governorship candidate for our political party in Taraba State.”
Speaking through the party’s spokesperson, Aaron Artimas, the leadership of the party said the governorship primary results from all the 168 wards of the state were corroborated by both the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security operatives that monitored the primary.

The party, according to him “heartily welcomes this development” adding that “we congratulate the people of the state on the victory because it lays to rest the rumour of conducting fresh primaries.”
Artimas urged the party faithful to disregard the rumour making the rounds that there would be a fresh primary in the state.
He called on all the party members to close ranks so that the party could emerge victorious in next year’s elections.
