Lawmaker representing Kaduna North Central at the Senate, Senator Uba Sani, on Tuesday declared interest in the state governorship seat.
He made the declaration at the state All Progressive Congress secretariat and sought the support and cooperation of the party leaders.
He said, “I came to inform you of my intention to contest for the governorship seat under the APC. I also need your support to achieve this aim.”
He commended Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai for achieving a lot for the state.
El-Rufai had a few days ago when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today said his preference for the governorship seat was in his core team.
“I said core team because these are the guys that worked with me since 2014 to organise our party, our campaign and we won and got elected,” El-Rufai said.
Sani is considered to be in the “first 11”, having served as Political Adviser to El-rufai from 2015 to 2019, before he resigned to contest the Senate seat.
