The official declaration was made at about 5 a.m. on Sunday by Professor Tukur Ahmed, the Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after results from all ten wards were collated.
The election was held on Saturday to fill the seat left vacant following the death of Abdulmalik Musa in May 2024. Musa, an APC lawmaker, previously represented the constituency.
The outcome restores the seat to the APC and validates expectations that the race would be closely fought between the two dominant parties in Ganye.
