Apply Now: PSC Launches Online Portal for 50,000 New Police Officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of online applications for Police Constables and Specialist personnel, following President Bola Tinubu’s directive to recruit 50,000 additional officers to strengthen national security and combat rising crime across Nigeria.

The online application portal will be open from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026, and interested candidates are advised to meet all eligibility criteria before applying.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Of good character with no criminal record.
  • Age limits: 18–25 for General Duty; up to 28 for Specialists.
  • Female applicants must not be pregnant during training.
  • Physical requirements: Males (General Duty) – minimum height 1.67m, chest 86cm; Females – minimum height 1.64m.

Educational Qualifications:

  • General Duty: Minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics.
  • Specialists: Minimum of four credits, at least three years of relevant trade experience, and trade test certificates.

Required Documents:

  • FSLC, SSCE/NECO result, Birth certificate, LGA/State of origin certificate.
  • Specialists must also submit Trade Test Certificates and Driver’s Licence (for driver roles).

Application Process:

  • Apply online via https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
  • Ensure a valid National Identification Number, functional email, and phone number.
  • Upload all required documents.

Recruitment Categories:

  • General Duty: Police Constables.
  • Specialist Roles: Medical Assistants, Drivers, Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Dispatch Riders, Forensic Assistants, Dog Handlers, Horse Riders, Marine personnel, Electricians, Plumbers, Welders, Tailors, IT & Communication Technicians, Band Section specialists.

Selection Process:

  • Candidates will undergo physical and medical exams, aptitude tests, and background verification.
  • Recruitment is strictly merit-based; any attempt at bribery or financial inducement will be punished.
