Argentina Lionel Messi
Gianni Merlo, the president of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) on Monday demanded an apology from Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, and his compatriots for allegedly insulting journalists.
In a statement sent to Newsbreak.ng, Merlo said the Argentine national team insulted journalists with a song at the mixed zone in Doha, Qatar following their memorable triumph over France in the world cup final on Sunday.
The AIPC helmsman said players and officials of the Argentine federation disrespected journalists by singing a song that described reporters as “whores” (“putos periodistas”). In Nigerian pidgin slang, whore means a prostitute, escort, or sex worker.
