Arsenal secured their eighth consecutive Premier League win with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, in a chaotic match that saw both teams reduced to 10 men.

The game began with an early opportunity for Wolves, as Nelson Semedo surged down the flank and delivered a pinpoint cross to Pablo Sarabia, who narrowly missed the target with his volley in the 10th minute.

Arsenal came close to breaking the deadlock through Kai Havertz, who missed two golden chances in the first half. The German’s first header, set up by a brilliant Leandro Trossard cross, went just wide, while his second effort was denied by Jose Sa’s outstretched leg.

The Gunners’ momentum was disrupted just before halftime when Myles Lewis-Skelly received a contentious red card for a challenge on Matt Doherty, leaving the visitors with 10 men.

Despite being a man down, Arsenal started the second half strongly. Declan Rice tested Jose Sa with a powerful strike, but it took Wolves an hour to register their first shot on target, with Hwang Hee-Chan forcing David Raya into action.

Wolves began to assert control with their numerical advantage. Matheus Cunha’s deflected shot required a crucial save from Raya, and the Brazilian came close again moments later, narrowly missing the target.

The game turned once more when Wolves’ Joao Gomes received a second yellow card for a dangerous tackle, evening the numbers. Arsenal capitalised just four minutes later when substitute Riccardo Calafiori struck a precise half-volley into the bottom corner.

Wolves pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Cunha both forcing saves from Raya. However, Arsenal held firm to secure a vital three points and remain in the title race.

The defeat extended Wolves’ winless run in the league to five matches, while Arsenal celebrated their first clean sheet in 11 away games.
