At least ten people have been killed and several injured in a knife attack in the southern Iranian province of Kerman, authorities in the city of Rafsanjan, where the incident took place, said Monday.
The attack took place on Sunday evening when a person of Afghan origin attacked several people with a knife allegedly for “personal reasons”, according to reports by Mehr News Agency.
The authorities have explained that among the fatalities are six Iranians and four Afghans, while the attacker has been arrested and is in custody after attempting to flee the scene. The wounded have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
