Atiku condemns woman threatening to kill Yoruba, Benin people, tells govt what to do
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has categorically denounced Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Canadian resident, for her reprehensible threat to poison the food and drinks of Yoruba and Benin people.
This threat was captured in a viral TikTok video, which sparked widespread indignation and demands for action.
Sunnberger’s hateful remarks, which targeted millions of Nigerians, prompted the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters to urge the Canadian government to prosecute her for hate speech.
In a letter to Canada’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, the lawmakers emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and stressed the importance of upholding human rights and the rule of law in the bilateral relationship between Canada and Nigeria.

“I am informed that the identities of those involved have been disclosed and that calls have been made to the pertinent law enforcement agencies in Canada to prosecute the offenders.
“In this regard, I commend the House of Representatives and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission for their prompt and decisive action in addressing this incendiary rhetoric and preempting further escalation.
