Baba-Ahmed fires back at Rufai Oseni over ‘serving in Tinubu’s govt’ comment
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Special Adviser on Political Matters to Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has fired back at Rufai Oseni of ARISE Television for saying some activists from the North were now quiet after being appointed into key positions by President Bola Tinubu.
Oseni had in a post on X handle, lashed out at the attitude of some outspoken individuals and activists who are now maintaining sealed lips as they serve in Tinubu’s government.
Although he did not mention any name, there were indications that Baba-Ahmed was among those he was referring to.
Prior to his appointment by the Tinubu administration, Baba-Ahmed, who was the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), hardly missed any opportunity to tackle ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Some activists from the North are now quiet, the Buhari economic quagmire wasn’t this elevated but they waxed lyrical and they kept on pounding, now that they have got Advisory positions in Govt, they are quiet, The man dies when he keeps quiet when we ought the speak,” Oseni wrote.
Reacting, the former Northern Elders Forum spokesman, described the TV co-host as a coward for failing to finger anyone in his post.
Quoting the post, Baba-Ahmed wrote: “Pity. One would expect people like you, Oseni, to name names. This is cowardly. It is possible that you do not know that serving the nation is not a source of shame.
“People who are involved in addressing ‘Buhari’s quagmire’ are miles ahead of those like you who hide behind mics.”
This triggered reactions from users, with some accusing the government official of feeling guilty despite not being mentioned by Oseni.
