Baba Ijesha: Yomi Fabiyi challenges Iyabo Ojo, Princess to demand Damilola Adekola’s trial
Nollywood actor and human rights activist, Yomi Fabiyi, has challenged his colleagues, Iyabo Ojo and Princess, to demand the trial of Damilola Adekola and Princess’ house security, “Okele”, accused of having sex with a minor.
“The girl’s age is hearsay, and Princess was seen beating her in a video. Why is Princess not demanding justice for the girl if she was truly a victim?” Fabiyi questioned.
Fabiyi emphasized that the court found Baba Ijesha innocent due to lack of evidence and that the girl’s age was not proven. He also alleged that vital evidence was hidden from the court and that the truth was covered up.
“I detest injustice!” Fabiyi said. “Baba Ijesha has the right to sexual feelings, and flirting is a social culture that only becomes a crime if done with a minor or child. Why was Princess beating the same girl in the video after rushing in, if truly she was a victim?”
Fabiyi challenged his colleagues to use the same energy to demand the trial of Damilola Adekola and Princess’ house security, “Okele”, saying, “Why was the police denied access to the CCTV hard disc, and why is Damilola Adekola allowed to walk free? I won’t be surprised to see Damilola Adekola part of the men setting up the CCTV camera. How is Princess a genuine complainant?”

This development comes after the court’s ruling sparked controversy and debate among Nigerians, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the matter. Fabiyi, who is also the convener of the Break The Silence Foundation, a registered human rights NGO, emphasized that moral offenses differ from criminal offenses.
In a statement, Fabiyi said, “Wickedness has no place in our constitution. The court of appeal found Baba Ijesha innocent, and yet, some individuals are still accusing him. I challenge you, Iyabo Ojo and Princess, to use the same energy to demand the trial of Damilola Adekola and Princess’ house security, ‘Okele’.”
