In a bid to boost the credibility and competitiveness of the Ballon d’Or, France Football magazine has unveiled a revamped voting system for the prestigious award with 22 African countries making the cut.
Only countries ranked in the top 100 of the FIFA World Rankings will be eligible to vote.
The new rule aims to give voting rights only to countries with established football reputations and consistent international involvement.
This reform underscores France Football’s commitment to refining the Ballon d’Or selection process by ensuring that the decision-making reflects nations actively engaged at the highest levels of the sport.
