Twelve persons, including 10 women, were on Friday abducted by bandits who attacked Kerawa village in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A youth leader in the community, Jamil Kerawa, said the bandits operated unchallenged.
“They abducted 12 people two male and 10 women after killing one person. One other was injured and rushed to hospital in Zaria. We need help in Kerawa because only God is protecting us,” he said.
He appealed to the State Government to deploy security personnel in the area, lamenting the increase in attacks.
It was also learnt that surrounding villages such as Hayin Dam, Rago, Unguwar Salahu and Zariyawa were attacked by bandits recently.
Another resident simply identified as Jafaru said his brother and nephew were among those abducted.
He said the whole community was in confusion.
No official reaction from the state government and police but the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command has promised to comment after getting details.
