Bandits in fresh attack on Zamfara community abduct 10 people
The bandits terrorising Nigeria’s north-west region have attacked a community in Zamfara State.
At least ten people were abducted when the bandits raided Matusji village in Talata Mafara local government area of the State.
A sick person said to be among the abducted persons during the invasion which happened at about 2:30 am on Friday.
A villager, Ahmad Babangida, confirmed the incident to newsmen, stating that the bandits stormed the community with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically.

“We were all asleep but the heavy noise of the gunshot woke us up and everyone started running”, he said.
He admitted that though nobody was killed in the operation, many people were taken away by the gunmen to an unknown destination.
“The bandits have not said anything regarding the issue of ransom. We don’t know the whereabouts of our people,” he lamented.
According to him, those abducted include a patient receiving medical treatment while still on IV drip, pointing out that the villagers have not recovered from the shock.
The State police spokesman, ASP Yazeed Abubakar confirmed the incident, statiing that that 10 persons were abducted by the bandits.
He added that the Command has deployed tactical police teams to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest the bandits
