A mobile police officer attached to Operation Restore Peace has been shot dead in an ambush by armed bandits in Adabka village, Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The attack occurred on Tuesday at about 11:44 a.m., according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
The slain officer, deployed from Mopol 15, Ilorin, was travelling from his base in Adabka to Tibis village to purchase essential supplies when he was ambushed. Security sources revealed that the gunmen had taken strategic positions in bushes along the outskirts of Adabka and opened fire as the operative passed.

“Field teams deployed to the scene recovered the body of the fallen operative, which was evacuated to Adabka Primary Health Care Centre for documentation,” a source confirmed.
Sources further stated that the attack mirrors the tactics commonly used by bandit groups linked to the Dan-Karama Gwaska and Dansadau networks, notorious for coordinated ambushes followed by rapid withdrawal.
The incident adds to the growing security concerns in Zamfara, where bandit operations continue to pose serious threats to civilians and security personnel.
