Bandits release abducted Taraba chief; wife, others still held
One Alhaji Umaru Abubakar Nyala who was abducted by bandits wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s middle belt State of Taraba has regained his freedom.
Alhaji Umaru is a second-class Chief of Kwaji in Yorro LGA of the State.
Alhaji Umaru, who was abducted last week alongside his pregnant wife and son, was released alone as his family is still in captivity.

Similarly, 16 others, including a policeman and a palace guard, are also still in the hands of the kidnappers.
It was gathered that the monarch was released by the kidnappers at about 1am on Saturday.
For months on end, many local government areas and villages in Taraba state are beleaguered as they have become the target of violent attacks and killings for marauding armed non-state actors who operate with freedom and little or no resistance from the security forces.
