Baruwa: NURTW speaks on next move, urges members to be calm
Acting President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Alhaji Issa Ore, has appealed to members and officers of the union throughout the country to remain calm and be peaceful over a court judgement returning Tajudeen Baruwa as head of the NURTW.
He said that the national headquarters of the union was already taking steps to appeal the judgement.
A National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja presided over by Justice Otebola Oyewunmi on Monday affirmed Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa as validly elected president of the union.
Reacting to the judgement, the Acting President said there was no cause for alarm, adding, “Our lawyers are studying the judgement and we shall proceed to Court of Appeal.”
Ore stated, “The Nigerian judicial system allows aggrieved party to take thier cases from National Industrial Courts to Court of Appeal and even to the Supreme Court.
“We shall use every available means to get justice.
“We want to use this medium to appeal to members to remain calm and continue going about their normal day-to-day business without any hindrance.”
