The fifth Saturday night party had several highlights worth knowing.
In the previous edition, the housemates turned up in African prints when DJ Sose held on to the wheels of steel but for the fifth Saturday, it was going back to the 70s.
The fun, which DJ Wysei dished out for the remaining 20 housemates, was immeasurable despite eviction lurking around the corner.
As always, drinks flowed ceaselessly. This time it was the global brand Johnny Walker that housemates gulped, and as expected, some had too much.
Big Brother decided to spoil the remaining 20 housemates with a new addition. A pre-party photo booth was installed by Tecno for the housemates to enjoy some photo sessions. Though not all the 20 housemates went through the session, Saga, Emmanuel, Pere, Queen, Angel, Nini, Sammie, Jaypaul and Whitemoney took more pictures than others. The housemates took time to bring out their inner modeling abilities.
DJ Wysei dished out unlimited fun on the turntable, becoming the fifth DJ to play for the housemates in the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition. DJ Wysei, spotting an unusual hairstyle, came prepared as she kept the housemates on their feet all night. She registered herself as the second female DJ that had appeared on the show in the sixth season of BBNaija. Viewers’ agreed that Wysie delivered the best party of the season yet. The female disc jockey thrilled with a fine mix of Nigerian classic hits that successfully kept housemates away from the mirrors and on the dance floor.
Since the theme was old school, all the 20 housemates came to the dance floor rocking an Afro and some tight-hugging attires. On the dance floor, the housemates appeared to have had an amazing night with no exceptions. Unlike previous parties, the theme party saw the mirror gangs and the photo-ops gangs rocking more the vibes blaring from DJ Wysei’s turntables.
It turns out that Michael and Jackie B’s hope of sailing a relationship finally capsized during the fifth Saturday night party. Towards the end, Michael and Jackie B got into a conversation that left him wearing a long face for the rest of the party and viewers believed it might have been Jackie B’s insistence on moving on from Michael after what she considered an embarrassing action with Angel.
The party gave Saga another opportunity to enjoy the warmth and ambience of Nini’s personality. Unlike Michael’s cross, Saga enjoyed the night rocking his Afro, tight pants and obviously Nini’s body. Saga and Nini’s bond remained solid and seemed unshakeable during the party. As always, the pair remained almost inseparable keeping mostly to themselves on the dance floor.
One housemate that has continued to give viewers and fellow housemates a run for their money on the dance floor is 26-year-old JMK. The trained lawyer with a massive derriere has continued to teach dance lessons on the dance floor. Aside from bringing new tricks and steps to the party every week since joining in the second week, JMK has remained a vibe and all the male housemates regularly take turns to savour her dance moves.
Undeniably the party beast, Cross displayed his usual positive vibe at the fifth Saturday night party. Known for his bare-chested moves, Cross remained unmoved about the Sunday night eviction as she coordinated the groove while partying like there’s no tomorrow.
