The defence counsel had, on June 23, prayed the court to discharge his client on grounds that the entire charge slammed against him was not based on law.
At the resumed sitting yesterday, Shehu-Usman prayed the court to allow the defendant move a no-case submission, saying no prima facie case was established against his client.
The defence counsel opposed the cross-examination made by the prosecution team and threatened to walk out of the court.

“Why will the prosecution be asking the defendant when his father died? It is not contained in the charge,” he said.
The judge had permitted the prosecution to go ahead with cross examination and the defence counsel picked up his belongings and walked out on the judge.
Shehu-Usman also requested for a copy of the proceedings, adding that he will challenge the ruling before an upper court.
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned toJuly 21, for continuation of defence.
