Boko Haram planning to attack Abuja, Jos, IGP alerts

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba says the police have uncovered a plot by Boko Haram terrorists to attack Abuja and Jos, Plateau State.
He stated this in a circular issued on Friday and signed by Acting Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa.
The IGP therefore directed commissioners of police in Abuja and Plateau State to be on the alert.
The circular however did not indicate if the intelligence report revealed the specific day(s) the planned attacks were to be carried out.
It only said the report showed that the attacks were billed to be coordinated by a Boko Haram commander, Muhammad Sani, from the Sambisa Forest, and his deputy, Suleiman, hibernating around Lawan Musa Zango, Gashua, Yobe State.
It stated, “In light of the above, it is the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you review your security architecture across all critical government infrastructures and police facilities in your jurisdiction with a view to checkmating the dastardly plans of these marauding terrorists.”
