The 60 members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, Kaduna, kidnapped by suspected bandits have regained freedom after a month in captivity.
Daily Trust reported on 31st October how the bandits stormed the church during a service and abducted no fewer than 60 members.
A few days later, the bandits killed three of the victims, leaving two critically injured after demanding ransom.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)’s Chairman, Kaduna State Chapter, Rev Joseph John Hayab, who confirmed their release to Daily Trust on Saturday, said other nine people abducted at a different village were also released alongside the church worshippers on Friday evening.
He did not disclose whether ransom was paid before their release, but said the church told him that they were released and taken to the barrack by soldiers.
“Yes, the Kakau Daji church members have been released according to the Church last night and the Church told us that they played a vital role; so I commend them for that,” he said.
Another resident, whose family members were among those abducted but craved anonymity, said the ransom was paid before they were released but declined further comments.
