A three-storey building on Friday collapsed in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who confirmed the development, said the building came down on Sonuga Street of Palm Avenue, Mushin.
Spokesman for NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye said in a WhatsApp message, “A three-storey building has collapsed on Oye Sonuga Street opposite Oye Roundabout, Isolo Road, Mushin.”

He said he could not readily confirm the rescue of an adult and a child by community members before the arrival of responders from the Divisional Police Officer.
As of the time of filing this report, it could not be established if anyone was trapped in the rubble of the collapsed structure.
The incident is coming a few weeks after Idris Salako resigned his appointment as commissioner of physical planning in the state over recurring embarrassing cases of building collapse.
